Walkthrough · All phases
Follow the Mortal Shell II story walkthrough from start to finish.
Update each step here or from the map, tracker and trophy pages. The state is shared, and skipped optional work never blocks route completion.
The default order minimizes known lockouts. Goal branches insert relevant tasks; they do not create a second route.
- Step 01 Missable
Accept Marigold's flower crown
Do this during the opening walk to the first Shell. Skipping the interaction locks the trophy for this save.
trophies - Step 02 Missable
Reduce the Tar Golem to minimum health
The tutorial encounter does not repeat in NG+. Exit to the main menu before the loss sequence completes if you need another attempt.
trophies - Step 03
Claim the first Shell, weapon and sidearm
The opening sequence provides the first complete combat kit and establishes the three collectible lines.
storytrophiescollectibles - Step 04
Reach Marrow Keep
Use Marrow Keep as the routing hub before committing to the northern and southern world branches.
storyexploration - Step 05
Siphon seven Ova in Marrow Keep
This unlocks fast travel and corruption clearing, which reduces backtracking between world branches.
storyexploration - Step 06
Clear the northern world branch first
The attributed roadmap identifies north then south as the intended order, while still allowing the six Corrupt Gate bosses in any order.
storyexplorationcollectibles - Step 07
Sweep the southern world branch
Use the map's incomplete-only preset to close Beacons, gear, Tarstones, fragments and keys before moving to the final area.
storyexplorationcollectibles - Step 08 Missable
Complete Peter's Perfect Parry
Attempt the Nameless Captive requirement late in the first run so the character is upgraded before the missable boss check.
trophies - Step 09
Finish the core collectible sweep
Close Shells, weapons, sidearms, Tarstones, Beacons and map fragments through the linked map and tracker views.
collectiblesexplorationtrophies - Step 10
Defeat the final boss after the world sweep
The final area can open after five of six main bosses. The completion route delays it until the unfinished core list is under control.
storytrophies - Step 11
Run the post-story incomplete-only cleanup
Free roam remains available after the final boss. Clear every unfinished required target before using the Ova Siphon.
trophiescollectiblesexploration - Step 12
Enter NG+ only after exporting a backup
Use the Ova Siphon to advance. The companion resets targets with unknown carryover instead of assuming they survive.
storytrophies - Step 13
Repeat bosses and Beacons for Glimpses
The source roadmap states that one run can fully bond roughly three Shells; prioritize Shells that are still below tier four.
trophiesexploration - Step 14
Continue into NG++ for the remaining memories
Eight Shells have forty memories and require 216 Glimpses in the cited roadmap. Stop when all memories are watched and the tracker closes.

How the shared walkthrough state works
The walkthrough presents every captured route step in one sequence, but the completion state belongs to a target rather than to this page. When a step points to a trophy, collectible, boss, or exploration target, the tracker and any matching map record read the same locally stored state. That prevents the same objective from appearing complete in one tool and unfinished in another. Optional steps can be skipped without closing required work, and filters change only what is displayed; they never remove the underlying target from the route.
Use the phase pages when you need a smaller working list. Before marking a step complete, open its linked record and check the evidence status, source date, and version warning. “Source-backed” means the statement is traceable to the displayed source; it does not mean this site reproduced the action in the current build. If a location, reward, or carryover rule differs in your game, leave the target incomplete and keep the discrepancy visible for the next review. Exporting the companion profile protects these checklist decisions, but it is not a substitute for backing up a game save before a missable encounter or cycle transition.
